Timetabling overkill?

How much training is too much? If I try to do a bit everyday will I end up crashing and burning? I look at the 16 week guidelines which include resting every other day. It sounds sensible. I then panic that 16 weeks is such a long, long time that I’m waiting forever. I put it into my calendar. It’s no time at all….I wonder if I can stick to the little and often instead of mad panic workouts…
