“Get those hips back!”
It’s time for the deadlift, beginner style…with a very light 5kg dumbbell. The technique is quite tricky to get my head around. In fact the deadlifts seem to keep turning into squats until in exasperation I hear “hips back, hips back, HIPS BACK!”. Penny drops and I realise I need to, you guessed it, move my hips back.
